NORCROSS, GEORGIA: - AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, recently sponsored the Fall 2016 Plugfest in Seattle, WA from September 19-23. The UEFI Plugfest is semi-annual event hosted by members of the Unified EFI Forum (UEFI) and event attendees come together to learn about the latest UEFI technologies/developments from various companies.
UEFI Plugfest attracts companies from various sectors of the industry, including other independent BIOS vendors and manufacturers including Nvidia, Intel, Huawei, AMD, Broadcom, Canonical, QLogic and more. Over the span of four days, attendees went to sessions that covered different topics including UEFI Network/Security and Redfish Configuration.
AMI’s focus at the Fall Plugfest was centered on Out of Band (OOB) BIOS remote management through Redfish and the REST protocol. Attendees were able to attend various testing sessions and get an in-depth overview of the Redfish technology and how the latest advancements in UEFI technology could be integrated with Redfish. AMI met with various industry partners/customers and went over how they could use OOB management to create highly manageable solutions applicable to a wide variety of platforms with or without BMC. Overall feedback was positive and the UEFI Plugfest was a successful event.
