The Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE is a global competition sponsored by the Qualcomm Foundation that will award $10 million to teams that develop a consumer-friendly, mobile device capable of diagnosing and interpreting a set of thirteen conditions and capturing vital health metrics. As part of the same agreement, the Sundaram Medical Foundation has also indicated its intent to act as a "knowledge partner" to support American Megatrends as it moves into the final stages of the Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE competition.
AMI VitalsFit is a stylish, accurate, portable and easy-to-use health-monitoring device that patients can use in the comfort of their own homes for real-time insight into a wide variety of vital health statistics. This groundbreaking device can be used to diagnose a set of fifteen different diseases, including Anemia, Diabetes, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis A, Atrial Fibrillation, Sleep Apnea, Pneumonia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Ear Infection and Leukocytosis.
The team behind AMI VitalsFit has already commercialized a small device - called AMI B.O.L.T™ - which is controlled by an iOS™, Android™ or Windows® mobile app and can check blood pressure, blood oxygen level and body temperature among other vital statistics. They are now in the process of integrating other technologies into the device to meet the requirements of the Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE competition. The team has also developed small probes to check for anemia, ear infection, lung capacity, electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) and electroencephalogram (EEG), all of which connect to the base device and/or mobile phone for diagnosis.

About AMI VitalsFit™
From just a prototype blood pressure meter to a composite and portable healthcare device, AMI VitalsFit has come a long way. The ideas behind this design have been actualized as science, developed along with the needs of the hour. The inception of AMI VitalsFit began with a prototype board designed in August 2012 - a handmade PCB designed to confirm the working principles of the components. Later, with rapid changes and rigorous rounds of component selection and testing, new features were added and this the paved way to AMI VitalsFit in its current form. Over the period of several years, the device has undergone several modifications in terms of design and functionality. As a result, it is a highly advanced design, ready to address the inefficient, expensive, and inertia-bound healthcare system. The "Team Danvantri" from American Megatrends India Pvt. Ltd., led by IT veteran Sridharan Mani, Director and CEO of AMI India, is the only team from India competing for the Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE and has currently reached the round of seven remaining finalists, with the winner to be selected in early 2017.
