American Megatrends to showcase StorTrends iTX Storage Software Recipe for Intel® Storage Server SSR212MC2 at Storage Networking World in Dallas, TX, October 16-17, 2007

Tuesday: October 16, 2007

The demonstrations will take place in the Intel® booth location highlighting the Intel Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance (ESAA) platform, with whom American Megatrends will co-exhibit. Along with its own 3U StorTrends 3200 and 1U StorTrends 1100 storage appliances, American Megatrends recently ported its StorTrends® iTX Storage Software to the Intel® Storage Server SSR212MC2. AMI will be conducting presentations during SNW to highlight the StorTrends iTX software’s unique capability for advanced snapshots, asynchronous replication, snap-assisted replication, and high availability features.

"AMI is proud to have the opportunity to showcase our StorTrends iTX software at the premier storage event in the world," said S. Shankar, President and CEO of American Megatrends. He also noted that the partnership that exists between Intel® and AMI extends well beyond the confines of SNW.

"We are especially proud of the fact that our demonstration will be located in Intel’s booth, as the partnership between these two companies spans more than two decades. We would like to thank Intel for this opportunity to generate increased interest in our StorTrends iTX software and Intel’s recognition of our efforts in porting it to the Intel SSR212MC2 platform,” he added.

Paresh Chatterjee, Chief Technology Officer of American Megatrends, described some of the features that visitors to the StorTrends demonstrations could expect to see. "StorTrends iTX software supports dual dialect (NAS + IP-SAN) technology, to provide both block and file capability for customers to utilize with popular applications like Microsoft® Exchange, Microsoft® SQL Server, Oracle®, and more."

"StorTrends iTX software provides true enterprise-level features, at a pricing level that is within the range of small and medium sized businesses. Its ability to offer continuous data protection through a combination of snapshot and replication technologies at this price point is unparalleled in the industry," he continued.

The latest version of StorTrends iTX has a number new features, including Continuous Data Protection (CDP), Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), Storage Resource Management (ILM), and WAN-optimization Data Services (WDS) featuring data deduplication for the optimization of asynchronous replication.

American Megatrends would like to welcome visitors to SNW in Dallas to learn more about the innovative features of AMI’s StorTrends iTX storage software, and its capability to maximize the performance and power of the Intel® Storage Server SSR212MC2.
