NORCROSS, GEORGIA / SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is pleased to announce a live demonstration of its MegaRAC® Composer™ Pod Management Software at the upcoming Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2016 in San Francisco, California. The event will take place from August 16 - 18, 2016, with AMI located at Booth #321 of the Moscone Center West.
MegaRAC Composer from American Megatrends is a Pod Management software solution developed to be fully compliant with the Intel® Rack Scale Design and DMTF Redfish™ specifications. It allows users to browse physical resources at the rack, chassis and system level through an intuitive web-based user interface. Administrators can then compose and assign those physical resources to create a logical node, which provides the advantage of demand-driven dynamic scaling to optimize datacenter resource utilization. MegaRAC Composer also allows for the composition of physical resources based on templates, which can then be stored in the software and reused as a time-saving feature. In addition, MegaRAC Composer gives users the ability to power on, force off, and gracefully shutdown composed nodes.
The MegaRAC Composer demo planned for IDF will showcase the software's unique capability to compose nodes and manage those components and their utilization, all from a remote location. Rack hardware from several leading manufacturers will be remotely managed by MegaRAC Composer from a central location in the Intel booth, where attendees can view the software's management interface and features. The AMI booth will contain additional information on how the demo was assembled and deployed.
Jeff Hilland, President of the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), the organization behind the Redfish standard, commented that "The Redfish standard continues to gain adoption and interest, and is equally suited for managing large, scale-out environments and single stand-alone platform management. Demonstrations from DMTF member companies are a testament to the public availability and true interoperability of the standard, and we applaud AMI for showcasing its demonstration at this year's Intel Developer Forum."
"It is clear that the Intel Rack Scale Design and the DMTF Redfish standards will exert a tremendous influence on the expectations of the industry for simple and secure management of modern scalable platform hardware. As a decades-long leader in server management technologies, AMI has always been focused on featuring support for the latest industry standards in all of its MegaRAC products. OEMs and ODMs using the MegaRAC Manageability Framework to implement Rack Scale Design and Redfish benefit from lower development costs and faster time to market, while data center end users can be confident of these new, standards-compliant products from a trusted industry leader," said Subramonian Shankar, President, CEO and Founder of American Megatrends.
American Megatrends cordially welcomes all of its customers, partners and media representatives to IDF San Francisco 2016 and invites attendees to visit Booth #321 of the Moscone Center West for a closer look at MegaRAC Composer and all of the latest innovative developments from AMI.
