NORCROSS, GEORGIA - AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is pleased to announce the recent receipt of the "Excellent Support Award" from the Development Center, IT Products Business Division, AVC Networks Company of Panasonic Corporation. This award was given to AMI in recognition of outstanding support in its UEFI BIOS Development work for the company’s Toughbook® line of notebook computers.
Panasonic Toughbook® rugged laptops and Toughpad® durable tablets are engineered with enterprise-grade security and can withstand drops, spills, dust and grime to perform in the harshest environments. Rugged reliability, low cost of ownership and accolades from reviewers are just a few of the reasons why Panasonic keeps winning over the world's toughest users.
The award was granted by Panasonic last month to the AMI India Panasonic BIOS team, in recognition of five years of outstanding support in UEFI BIOS development support, specifically HTTP access support, SD data erase functionality, and similar AMI-proprietary technologies and features. Notably, this award is considered a rare privilege, as Panasonic only awards it to partners and suppliers it deems exceptional. This is the first time that AMI has been honored to receive the Excellent Supplier Award from Panasonic.
Commenting on the Excellent Support Award and its significance to the relationship the two companies share, Director Development Center, Hisashi Taniguchi of the IT Products Business Division, AVC Networks Company at Panasonic remarked that "It is a great pleasure to award this Excellent Supplier Award to AMI, in recognition of both their outstanding work in support of our Toughbook products, as well as the long history of partnership that our two companies have shared. We look forward to many more years of strong collaboration and mutual support between us."
"We are greatly honored to receive the Excellent Support Award from Panasonic," commented Subramonian Shankar, President, CEO and Founder of AMI. "We have worked closely with them on BIOS development and customization for their Toughbook line for many years. Receiving an award from a manufacturer of such status, with a rich history in our industry and a stellar global reputation, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our India-based team supporting them and the importance we place on this relationship," he added.
