PRESS RELEASES

February 27, 2017: NORCROSS, GEORGIA, USA / BARCELONA, SPAIN - American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is pleased to announce that its MegaRAC® Composer™ Pod Management Firmware Solution will be featured at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain from February 27 - March 2, 2017. Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry, organized by the GSM Association, commonly known as GSMA, and held each year in “the Mobile World Capital” of Barcelona. This global event is regarded as the biggest and best mobile industry event and features a massive exhibition, an award-winning conference, outstanding networking opportunities, partner programs, the GLOMO Awards and more. During Mobile World Congress, MegaRAC Composer Pod Management Software from American Megatrends will be featured as the management component of an interoperability demonstration staged by Intel® Corporation in Hall 3, Stand 3E31 at MWC. The demonstration will showcase pooled FPGA technology from Intel in an InCloudRack system from China-based Inspur, an Intel® Cloud Builders total solution and service provider. Attendees will experience how MegaRAC Composer can browse physical resources at the rack, chassis and system level, all through an intuitive web-based user interface. As part of the demonstration, MegaRAC Composer will be used to compose and assign the available Inspur physical resources to create, deploy and manage a logical node. By leveraging Intel® Rack Scale Architecture and the Project Scorpio/ODCC specifications, Inspur’s InCloudRack modular design combines centralized power, cooling, and management into a rack level converged infrastructure that revolutionizes how modern data centers and cloud environment can be built. MegaRAC Composer Pod Management Software is fully compliant with the Intel® Rack Scale Design and DMTF Redfish™ standards, to offer the advantage of demand-driven dynamic scaling to optimize datacenter resource utilization. It also allows for the composition of physical resources based on templates, which can then be stored in the software and reused as a time-saving feature. In addition, MegaRAC Composer gives users the ability to power on, force off, and gracefully shutdown composed nodes. Subramonian Shankar, President, CEO and Founder of American Megatrends, had this to say about the inclusion of MegaRAC Composer in the Intel demo at Mobile World Congress: “AMI is very grateful to Intel and the other interoperability demonstration partners for the opportunity to present our MegaRAC Composer Pod Management software at MWC. AMI maintains a strong commitment to developing world-class management technologies for rack and scalable computing systems, drawing on our decades of providing remote management solutions to top-tier OEMs and ODMs around the globe, and MWC is the perfect stage for showcasing our expertise to the industry at large.” AMI encourages attendees of Mobile World Congress to visit the Intel display in Hall 3, Stand 3E31 and see MegaRAC Composer in action as part of the Intel interoperability demo. Representatives from AMI will be on the show floor throughout the event to speak to attendees who wish to know more about MegaRAC Composer and how it provides intuitive, efficient and powerful Rack Scale Architecture-compliant management for modular rack systems. NORCROSS, GEORGIA: - American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is proud to announce generic support for Linux on AARCH64 architecture.

Normally, the ARM world is restricted to deploying a specific ARM Linux for their specific SoC. This can cause problems at the end customer site because they may want to reinstall or switch to a different Linux distribution in the field. AMI has worked with both the Linux community to provide AMI's UEFI firmware in a more compatible manner. AMI has worked with several distributions such as CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

In adding generic Linux support, AMI gives ARM hardware developers the ability to build modern and versatile platforms. AMI has worked extensively on ACPI porting to enable support of a generic Linux AARCH64 distribution installation disc. With this ability, ARM developers or consumers can install generic source code and custom build their operating systems based on the specifications needed for their respective platforms to create high performing, low-cost solutions sought by their customers.
