About AMI VitalsFit™
From just a prototype blood pressure meter to a composite and portable healthcare device, AMI VitalsFit has come a long way. The ideas behind this design have been actualized as science, developed along with the needs of the hour. The inception of AMI VitalsFit began with a prototype board designed in August 2012 - a handmade PCB designed to confirm the working principles of the components. Later, with rapid changes and rigorous rounds of component selection and testing, new features were added and this the paved way to AMI VitalsFit in its current form. Over the period of several years, the device has undergone several modifications in terms of design and functionality. As a result, it is a highly advanced design, ready to address the inefficient, expensive, and inertia-bound healthcare system. The "Team Danvantri" from American Megatrends India Pvt. Ltd., led by IT veteran Sridharan Mani, Director and CEO of AMI India, is the only team from India competing for the Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE and has currently reached the round of seven remaining finalists, with the winner to be selected in early 2017.

NORCROSS, GEORGIA/HSINCHU, TAIWAN - American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), in collaboration with Realtek Semiconductor, an AMI Technology Partner, is pleased to introduce RealManage™ 2.0, the industry's first WiFi® DASH Solution.
Since its inception, AMI has been a consistent leader in the technology industry, with a diverse range of products spanning BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems.
Notably, AMI was the first BIOS vendor to support USB in the BIOS, first to create a GUI BIOS interface with mouse support, first to integrate diagnostics, and first to support ACPI with AMIBIOS®. Now, AMI extends its history of innovation and industry firsts in developing RealManage 2.0, a WiFi DASH solution integrated with the RTL8111FP-CG NIC controller chip from Realtek.
DASH (Desktop and mobile Architecture for System Hardware) is a client management standard released by the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force) and is a web services-based standard for secure out-of-band and remote management of desktops and mobile systems. Realtek has long been an Ethernet NIC market leader and with the RTL8111FP-based next-generation DASH remote management solution called RealManage 2.0, Realtek aims to keep its market position and remain a force for technology innovation.
"With the rising popularity of the GUI BIOS, enterprise customers required out-of-band KVM (Keyboard, Video, and Mouse) functions beyond the standard 'Text Console Redirection' feature. Realtek's RealManage 2.0 is our answer; a powerful DASH solution that supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet DASH, and is compliant with a GUI BIOS," said Realtek's Vice President and Spokesman, Yee-Wei Huang. "It brings a whole new application methodology and experience to commercial customers, providing a wealth of data and tools for remote out-of-band client management tasks."
"The DASH (Desktop and Mobile Architecture for System Hardware) standard is a web services-based management technology that enables IT professionals to remotely manage desktop and mobile PCs from anywhere, and it is fast entering the enterprise of features required by system vendors. As a technology leader, AMI is keenly aware of its responsibility to support the latest industry standards," said Subramonian Shankar, President, CEO and Founder of American Megatrends, Inc.
"AMI has always been committed to being the first to deliver on this promise in the form of high-quality solutions for our customers. AMI's support for WiFi DASH in RealManage 2.0, the industry's first WiFi DASH solution gives manufacturers confidence in knowing that the products they are delivering today will be fully standards-compliant as adoption of WiFi connection becomes more widespread," he added. "Providing first access to key new technologies is one of the primary components for maintaining strong, long-term partnerships with our enterprise customers."
