NORCROSS, GEORGIA: AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, BMC and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is pleased to announce compliance with the recently released new version of Intel® Rack Scale Design (RSD), version 2.3.
Intel® Rack Scale Design (Intel® RSD) is an industry-wide reference architecture for disaggregated, composable infrastructure that fundamentally changes the way a data center is built, managed, and expanded over time. Intel® Rack Scale Design can reduce data center complexity and increase agility, productivity, efficiency and vendor interoperability. With Intel® RSD, hardware resources are under software control, accessible through a standard API which is aligned with DMTF Redfish® standards.
The latest Intel® RSD 2.3 architecture features support for NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF), which enables composition of nodes connected to NVM Express (NVMe) drives. RSD 2.3 also supports certain Quality of Service (QoS) parameters for allocating selected network traffic over Ethernet, a key aspect of successful NVMe-oF implementation.
Subramonian Shankar, President, CEO & Founder of AMI, commented that "As a decades-long leader in BMC and server management technologies, AMI continually looks to add support into its products for the latest architecture frameworks such as Intel® Rack Scale Design, aligned to industry standards such as DMTF Redfish. We strive to pass the benefits of the interoperability and efficiency that these architectures offer to our OEM and ODM customers. OEMs and ODMs using the MegaRAC® Manageability Framework to implement RSD-compliant solutions into their products are sure to benefit from lower development costs and faster time to market thanks to AMI's compliance with the latest version of Intel® RSD. Likewise, their customers will appreciate the higher efficiency, agility and interoperability of these products."
